Sales sales sales. Keeping up with seasonal fashion trends. Purchasing an all you can grab apparel buffet. Flaunting to your friends and social media followers. There’s no need for disregard, we’ve all been there many times. Especially since the holidays have arrived. CHRISTMAS. Tagging your wallet to purchase gifts for family and friends. And of course, yourself. But in the end, our wallet will soon drop dead.
THE ADDICTION IS REAL Don’t worry, not an illness, just psychological, created by none other than social media and society, which can have a HUGE impact on your mental health. Don’t freak out! There are ways to prevent this. For starters, do not be tempted by clothes with a huge sale, knowingly that they will be out of season once newer apparels come out next year.
TAKE A BREATH AND VACAY To be fair, you’ll be spending money regardless of trying to save, why not instead, set money aside for the next holidays. Limit yourself from online shopping by creating a calendar for a vacation away from online shopping, or onsite shopping in general. Or even so, find cheap gift ideas and DIYs, such as handmade soaps, natural perfume, shampoo, and much more. In the end, you’ll save at least enough for next year’s holiday sales!
BE BRAVE AND RATION UP Now, budgeting is the important part of the whole concept, it can help you overcome your addiction. Fashion addiction can indeed impact your wallet, such as on sale apparel, adding up to a large sum of money when you hit that checkout button. That’s when rationing comes along! Yay! Budgeting the amount of money you spend and the number of clothes you’ll need is essential when purchasing. It can be disheartening, but also worth it, towards your mental and physical health. So please take this advice and stay healthy.
GO ON A DIET Diet yourself on how much clothes you’re going to buy. Don’t over-eat; especially when sales come around and tempt you. So learn to control your hunger to buy more, which will help you digest sane amounts of purchases. Avoid going on apparel sites; it will drive you to famine. And stop overfilling your shopping cart with clothes that you’ll be wearing once. If we can do it, so can you!
Anyways, the more you control yourself, the less you’ll have to worry about CBD (compulsive buying disorder). Realistically, it can take time to prevent habits of overspending, there are more steps you need to bypass. But if you take the time to go through the steps, you’ll be able to reach the top and take full control of the wheel. Now go crazy! You deserve it. (Not too crazy. For the sake of both us.)
